(July 25)[Notes:ANCHOR VOICE] A minor league pitcher who set off an absolutely ugly scene now faces assault charges. 21-year-old Julio Castillo has been ordered held on 50 thousand dollar bond and directed to surrender his passport. It was Thursday night when Castillo -- during a bench clearing brawl -- threw a ball at full-speed toward the opposing team's dugout. The ball apparently went into the stands -- striking a fan in the head. What ensued can only be described as mayhem ... A ten minute brawl that led to the ejection of 15 players. Now -- if convicted -- Castillo could face eight years in prison.SOT:(Kevin Braig/Defense Attorney) no prior criminal history, strong ties to the team, etc The fan -- identified by police as 44 year-old Chris McCarthy -- was treated and released from the hospital. Fans told police that McCarthy was knocked senseless and became incoherent. A preliminary hearing in the case is set for August first. ___ ___, The Associated Press.(****END****) ANCHOR VOICE:-------------------------VIDEO PRODUCER: Kevin White------------------------------VIDEO SOURCE: WKEF--------------------------VIDEO APPROVAL:------------------------------VIDEO RESTRICTIONS: Courtesy----------------------------------SCRIPT/WIRE SOURCE: BC-BBM--Chiefs-Dragons-Brawl, 13th Ld-Writeth------------------------------------
